Medisure Access works to reduce the length of absence where there is real cost justifications
in doing so. We give our clients a proven reduction in the number of days absent
and a demonstrable return on their investment in accelerated treatment.
Our clients can control the cost justification criteria, however, even when absence
costs are based purely on basic salary costs per day, returns of over 500% are not
uncommon.
The following are real examples of employee absence that we managed for our clients
and the savings made.
Mental Health
Employee had been suffering multiple functional disorders, headaches, involuntary
jerking, urinary retention, backache and leg pains and had been absent from work
on and off over the previous 4 years, the longest period of absence being 11 months.
NHS Consultant Neurologist had carried out various diagnostics with all tests proving
negative. Occupational Health Advisor passed referral to Medisure Access as the
Consultant had recommended a referral to a Clinical Psychologist, who identified
probable causes, and recommended Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which was provided
over a period of 3 months. Employee overcame the majority of the symptoms and was
able to return to a more consistent working lifestyle.

This was not available on the NHS for 12 months. Driver unable to carry out normal
duties without this treatment.
Referred to Medisure who identified centre of excellence for this condition. Consultation
arranged within two weeks of authorisation.
Sleep monitor provided with follow up consultation and returned to work on full
duties after 5 months.
